ABOUT

The conference aims to pool together the insights from research and company practices concerning gender dynamics in women leadership and entrepreneurship. Using an international comparative perspective, it will examine the role of gender in different socio-political, cultural and economic contexts in European and Non-European Mediterranean countries.

The International Conference on Women Entrepreneurs and Leaders, will be held in the city of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The conference will be held in the premises of the University of Nicosia from 22 – 23 of September 2016.

CALL FOR PAPERS

We invite researchers, and all those working in this field to submit work under the following topics:

  • Women’s formative experiences in leadership and entrepreneurship
  • Women’s impact in decision-making process on shaping organizational policy and practices
  • Leaders’ and Entrepreneurs’ awareness of gender influence on the structuring of relationships between women and men in forums
  • The salience of social categorization and mechanisms of women’s potential inclusion
  • Future challenges for promoting women’s meaningful participation in leadership and entrepreneurship and sketching action plans
  • The influence of gender issues on entrepreneurial ecosystems
  • Gender issues in society
  • Work-life balance issues
  • Women and start-ups
  • Migrant women and entrepreneurship
  • Women and technology

NB: Papers may address one or more of the above listed sub-topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable.

FOR AUTHORS

Proceedings

Only accepted and presented papers will appear in the proceedings if they have been uploaded before the deadlines.

Paper Preparation & Submission

We invite both research, practice and/or policy-oriented extended abstracts or short papers addressing the topics delineated in the conference objectives above, completed work as well as work in progress. If you have a suitable paper already published elsewhere it is welcome but it is required that you change at least 50% of previously published text. The length of the extended abstract should be around 500-750 words, excluding references.

Structure of the extended abstract/short paper:
a. Rationale and aims of your work
b. Conceptual Framework/Theoretical Background (including short relevant literature review)
c. Methodology
d. Major Findings/Insights/Mapping of the Issues
e. Discussion and Conclusions/Recommendations
